The kingdom of Saudi Arabia, one of the foremost allies of the USA in the Middle East, brutally exploits its migrant workers. The visa regime keeps the workers in a state of permanent dependency on their employers and abuses are common. At the other end of the spectrum members of the royal family, including the king himself, are among the richest people in the world with billions of dollars in wealth. This contradiction has revolutionary implications.

On Saturday, April 6, some 200 people gathered in Minneapolis, MN for a spirited rally and march against imperialist wars, and in particular, against the use of killer drones. The workers at Ashraf Soap factory are being exploited by Unilever and factory management. They are hired through contractor and no job benefits are offered though they are making Unilever products like Lux, Life Buoy and Vim. Harassement by the management is a norm at workplace. When workers started to react against draconian policies of management & Unilever in the nearpast they were repressed brutality by management.

Young Doctors in Punjab achieved victory on Wednesday 7 November after a struggle that lasted over two years. More than 22,000 young doctors in Punjab were united in their demands for better wages and service structure under the banner of a new organisation called Young Doctors Association (YDA).
