We received this update from Pakistan today detailing the extent of
some of the damage caused by the earthquake and some of the plans for
relief and aid organised by the PTUDC. Our financial appeal has managed
to raise several hundred pounds from around the world in a short amount
of time and we would like to thank all of those who have donated money.
This is only the beginning and we need to raise more money to get the
necessary supplies, such as tents and medicines, to help those who need
it most.

We have just received this urgent appeal from the comrades in Pakistan. The
terrible earthquake that has devastated the north of Pakistan and India has had
its worst effects in Kashmir. As if the inhabitants of this oppressed land had
not suffered enough, nature has now inflicted an appalling calamity that falls
heaviest on the poorest sections of society.We are calling on every member of the international
labour movement to give as generously as possible to the special appeal that we
have launched today.
