Pakistan Trade Union Defense Campaign (PTUDC) condemn the incident took place in Ramasawami area of Karachi, where five policemen gang-raped two sisters on Sunday night, March 31, after entering their house in Ramaswami.

The victims' father and brother were asleep on the ground floor of the house when the policemen barged into house. The policemen tied both the male members of the family with ropes before molesting the two sisters on the first floor of the house.

Later the police blatantly refused to register the case when the victim's father, who owns a small cycle shop in the area, when to Nabi Baksh police station to loge an FIR on Monday morning.

After this incident tension prevailed in entire Ramaswami area on Tuesday and all kinds of commercial activity remained suspended in the locality in protest against the gang-rape of two sisters.

After this protest police was compelled to register FIR and now is busy in investigation. Same will be happened in this case as with the past cases on policemen.

Government has announced reforms in this department few months ago in which they were given more funds and power and after this announcement they declared some police stations as models. After few days 30 people were released who were kept in illegal detention from Gulberg police station, Lahore.

But government keep on insisting that these reforms will be fruitful after some months but this new incident in Karachi has unveiled the face of these reforms.
