On September 30th a workers’ school was organized in Multan Law College by Pakistan Trade Union Defence Campaign.

PTUDC_School_MultanThe agenda of the school was “World perspectives and perspective of a workers movement in Pakistan”. Asad Patafi chaired the proceedings and Mahbaloos Asad lead off the discussion. She said that we were living through a change in the epoch. The standard of living and wages of the workers are falling all over the world, even in the advanced capitalist countries of Europe and elsewhere. There have been more than 15 General Strikes in Greece in the recent period. Workers must unite their struggles on one platform and fight together to overthrow this system. Comrade Imran explained the criminal role played by the bourgeois media to conceal the working class movements. Comrade Arshad Nazir spoke about the anti workers laws and the expensive price of justice which a worker cannot afford. Salim Ansari also emphasized upon the working class unity. Comrade Anam said that there is no way out of this crisis and misery other than a workers’ state. Comrade Agha Hussain from WAPDA Hydro union summed up the discussion by saying that workers must unite in the fight for their rights or else each day will bring even more hardships and economic attacks by bourgeoisie and state. 30 comrades from Railways, Sui Gas, power looms, WAPDA, district courts, Pakistan Tobacco Company and PSF (Peoples Students’ Federation) attended the school.

The Struggle continues!
